About Us

The Ybor City Historical Society owns and operates the Tampa Baseball Museum at the Al Lopez House. Located at 2003 N. 19th St. in Ybor City, this 1905 casita is the childhood home of the legendary Al Lopez, Tampa's first MLB player, Manager, and Hall of Famer. We encourage visitors to visit this hidden gem and learn about the over 135-year history of baseball in Tampa, beginning with bringing cigar works and community members together under the universal language of baseball.
