About Us

Project Focus provides education, life skill training, and workforce development to students and young people with developmental disabilities in Tampa Bay with the goal of becoming independent.

Our mission is to provide programs and services through a unique learning community to assist young adults with disabilities to connect with each other and integrate into the larger community in order to live their best lives. We operate out of Christ our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Temple Terrace serving over 160+ students and young adults. Our unique, arts and mental health based therapies, focus on improving independence, job training, and community engagement for this population.

We support Focus Academy, a public charter school for students in middle and high school, a transition program for 18-22 year olds, and Focus Forward, an adult-day program for 22-30 year olds. Our students work and do job training through partnerships with multiple community organizations and businesses including Amazon, The Florida Aquarium, Feeding Tampa Bay, and the Temple Terrace Rec Center.

Our goals include a permanent campus that includes vocational rehabilitation services and a one-of-a-kind workforce housing community for young adults with disabilities in our community.
