He sat out to write a book about the enclave and began lugging a tape recorder and looking for elderly tabaqueros. In those days\, the mutual aid societies were open and filled with elderly cigarmakers sipping cafe con leche and shuffling dominos. He has interviewed at least 100 Tampe os y Tampe as and looks forward to sharing tales and old photographs of the immigrant world of Ybor City.
